Eight Mansions Feng Shui – Using the House Kua

Feng Shui Home Plans, your guide to the House Kua Feng Shui formula. In the House Kua – Eight Mansions method, the formula is calculated using the Site and Facing Mountain of your property. The orientation of your property is divided into 8 sectors, and each sector has a particular type of Chi associated with it. It’s the simplest Feng Shui method to calculate and the findings are a permanent state, meaning they do not change with time.
There are 8 different formulas for the House Kua:
Site Mountain – North / Facing Mountain – South
Site Mountain – North East / Facing Mountain – South West
Site Mountain – East / Facing Mountain – West
Site Mountain – South East / Facing Mountain – North West
Site Mountain – South / Facing Mountain – North
Site Mountain – South West / Facing Mountain – North East
Site Mountain – West / Facing Mountain – East
Site Mountain – North West / Facing Mountain – South East
Each orientation has a specific layout in the Eight Mansions. By dividing the floor plan of your property into each cardinal sector, this allows you to see where each of the Mansions is located. Each sector has a specific type of Chi relating to the room function.

Site Mountain
When the site Mountain of your property is in one of the beneficial sectors, the property is considered auspicious.
Main Entrance Door
Evaluate where the main entrance door is located, as well as the direction it faces. If this matches one of the favourable sectors for that particular House Kua, this is considered beneficial. The door must be in use to be of benefit.
Rooms
Each sector will hold specific characteristics, some favourable and some unfavourable. The tables below show the basic types of Chi. When looking at your floor plan, areas like storage, kitchens, bathrooms and garages are suited to unfavourable areas – to suppress the negative Chi. And in reverse where you sleep, eat, work and rest are suited to the better areas, to help raise potential.
